Whether it be you or a loved one, most of us have experienced some form of struggle or loss. In today’s fast-paced world many are also struggling with the competing demands of work and home life; both have become further complicated by technology, social media and now the pandemic. We live in a world where we are well connected through our devices, yet lonelier than ever.
For those with children, we are inundated with parenting advice, leaving us questioning whether we are doing enough, or doing it right. Whether you have children or not, many people report not tending to their emotional health and wellness the way they would like to be. Sometimes even if we have the answers, we find it difficult to implement long-term change. Family and friends may not fully understand what we're going through. We may fear judgment, or worry that our "stuff" would be a burden to others. Therapy provides a safe and confidential space to talk about things and figure out the next steps.
I'm a Registered Social Worker/EMDR Therapist with over 20 years of experience in the field. I take great care in holding space for your experiences, and personalize my therapeutic approach based on your situation and needs. Together we can set measurable goals to help you improve the circumstances that bring you to counselling. I can help you unpack attachment wounds, the impact of trauma, and challenge unhelpful thinking and behaviour patterns that could be keeping you stuck. As a working mom, highly sensitive person (HSP) and empath, I know what it's like to juggle competing demands, feeling pulled in all directions. I have walked my own road with trauma and mental health, and have lived experience with parenting anxious, neurodiverse, and medically complex children. I know how difficult life can be, AND yet how important it is to build in your own healing. Life can be challenging AND meaningful. I can help you find the "and." I am passionate about helping women, fellow moms, and families as they navigate the complexities of the world we live in.
