Fall 2026 Book Club Pick: Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before? by Dr. Julie Smith
This fall we're reading Dr. Julie Smith's Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before?, basically the book version of the stuff I say in session, minus my voice in your ear. It covers low moods, motivation, anxiety, grief, all the big ones, in short chapters that don't ask a lot of you on the hard days.
This one came out on top in our group survey, and I get why. It meets people where they are instead of where they "should" be. No fixing required, no shame if a chapter doesn't land the same way for everyone in the room, which honestly is half the fun of therapeutic book club.
We'll read a couple chapters a month and talk it through together. Show up as you are. Read it, half read it, don't read it at all, there's always lively discussion and something to take away either way.
Monthly meetings Tuesdays from 7:00 - 8:30 pm (see a full list of dates below)
$60 per session
Facilitated by Tanya Young, MSW, RSW
